Covert Missions

Covert Missions are for targeting another player using stealth, quietly attempting to infiltrate the targets base without being caught, using operatives, tools and their wits. The goal of the mission is to either recover intel on the target, or sabotage items from the targets inventory.

There are 2 types of Covert Missions

Military Stats

Spy Action and Sentry Action are military stats used in Covert Missions. When you spy on, or sabotage another player, you use your Spy Action and the target uses their Sentry Action. The party with the higher strength wins.

Infiltrating: [your_spy_action] vs [target_sentry_action]
Guarding: [enemy_spy_action] vs [your_sentry_action]

Randomness

During missions, both party's military strengths defer from the actual stats strength, this is to cause some unpredictability.
Not every mission is going to have identical results and when both parties are similar in strength (considered some what "equal"), both players have a chance at winning, but obviously the stronger player has the upper hand.

The way this works is a random number is generated using the stat's actual strength (at 100%) and 91% of the stats strength.
The random number generated is between [91%_strength] and [100%_strength].

With a military stat strength of 1,000, the actual damage applied during the battle would be a random number between 910 and 1,000

This means that even if your Strike Action is greater then a target's Defense Action, there is a slight possibility of losing if your stat is not 10% greater then the targets stat. This also works the opposite way, if your target's Defense Action is less then 10% greater then your Strike Action, then there is slight possibility you could win.

Mission Outcomes

Covert Missions have 2 elements that depict the result of the mission, which are
  • Result: whether the mission was successful (labeled as LOST or WON)
  • Detected: whether the target detected an intruder (labeled as YES or NO)
This means there are 3 possible outcomes
  • Lost & Detected (LOST and YES)
  • Won & Detected (WON and YES)
  • Won & Undetected (WON and NO)

The term "Undetected" is used when you were not "Detected" If you lose a covert mission then you are detected, but if you win you can be detected or undetected.

Lost & Detected

The target knows of your intrusion and your identity.

If you lose, it means that your spies break into the target's base but are spotted before they can retrieve any intel, they fight but your spies are rounded up, tortured and executed.
  • because your spies are captured and executed, you do not get any intel on the target
  • because your spies are tortured, the target knows of your identity and they may retaliate.
  • because your spies put up a fight, both sides use their respective tools during the fight so item damages apply for both player and target.

Won & Detected

The target knows of your intrusion but does not know your identity.

If you win and are detected, this means that you break into the target's base and recovered some intel, but your spies are spotted by the target before they can get all the possible intel (so some intel will be missing), your spies struggle but manage to escape and flee back to your base providing you with the intel they managed to get.
  • because your spies are detected, the target knows that there was an intrusion.
  • because your spies escape, the target doesn't know of your identity.
  • because your spies struggle, both sides use their respective tools during the struggle so item damages apply for both player and target.

Won & Undetected

The target does not know of your intrusion.

If you win and are undetected, this means that you break into the enemies base, recover all their intel and sneak out of their base without them noticing.
  • because your spies are never detected, the enemy has no knowledge of your intrusion
  • because your spies are never detected, your spies managed to get all possible intel on the enemy, so no intel will be missing
  • because there was no struggle, no items are used so item damages do not apply for both player and enemy
